Richfield bird walk is June 27
June 8, 2009

Join Western Reserve Land Conservancy and local wildlife filmmaker Miles Reed for a summer bird walk from 9-11 a.m. June 27 at Camp Bradlo Club in Richfield Township.
Reed, the producer of “The Natural World Around Us,” a Northeast Ohio cable television show about native plants and animals, will lead the walk, which will focus on nesting birds in riparian areas.
Camp Bradlo Club, a 78-year-old Slovak fraternal organization, is located on the East Branch of the Rocky River. There are also three small creeks on the property, which is on Harter Road between Parker and Medina Line roads at the Medina-Summit County border. To get to the property from Route 303, go south on Medina Line Road and turn right on Harter Road.
The 89-acre Camp Bradlo Club property is adjacent to two existing conservation easements – one in Richfield Township, the other in Hinckley Township – and a section of the Cleveland Metroparks’ 2,200-acre Hinckley Reservation. Camp Bradlo, which is named after an historic location in Slovakia, has a hardwood forest and a significant wildlife population.
Nature filmmaker Reed tells stories from his adventures with video, music and words. To find out more about Reed and his work, visit www.milesreed.net.
